Is anyone else offended that Jessica Simpson is now Country?

I know many of you will be offended by the question but in my opinion, Jessica Simpson’s voice is unbareable. I can’t believe that she barely made it as a pop star, got by with her good looks, and now she is going Country?

I love Country music and it just really irritates me that there are so many aspiring singers with better voices than her that can’t make it, and here comes Jessica Simpson with her millions of dollars and she gets whatever she wants.

I wouldn’t say I was offended, but I am annoyed. I felt like she only switched to be trendy and to make a quick buck now that her pop career is dead. Wait it out, she’ll move on to the next hot trend soon.
There is no requirement to be poor, however, if she makes a couple albums and they don’t sell for shit, she
will be out of luck. She can buy all the advertising she wants, but if nobody wants to listen to her it doesn’t matter.

It irritates me as well - she & her sister are both talentless IMHO. If she weren’t for the fact she is dating Tony Romo, or her creepy father’s tireless promotion of her (and her double D’s), she would be thankfully forgotten. She needs to leave all singing - country & otherwise - to those far more talented than her.

Not offended but amused. Her body and face are the only “talent” she has, which leaves her profitable careers at modeling, B movies, or walking the streets. If she had a brain, she’d have more options, but she doesn’t.

Honestly country is getting big right now, BON fricken JOVI is in country now, and yes it DEFINETLY offends me. Jessica Simpson is a very untalented singer (my opinion) and its seems everyone is in country, it pisses me off to answer your question
I’m not offended just annoyed at the music industry and other country music fans that support her career. But not only is Jessica Simpson going country but Darius Rucker (Hootie and The Blowfish) , Jewel, Michelle Branch, Kevin Costner and even Joe the freakin’ plumber are going country. I wish people knew what good country music was! And I’ve seen several up and coming artist that should have big careers by now but all of these washed up celebrities are trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame.

What is on the Radio is tending to offend me more then one person. Bubblegum Pop is the new Country(Taylor Swift, now Jessica Simpson, Carrie Underwood is pretty close in the grouping). If you’re a girl and look good it doesn’t matter if you are Country, they’ll take you. Guys are stupid enough to buy the album to look at these girls, and girls will buy the album because they like the music(or to support the female). So with the album selling the artist will keep getting airplay and keep getting to make albums. Blame the people who won’t stop buying this stuff and allowing it to be called Country.
Can we leave Darius Rucker out of this? He actually SOUNDS Country, and did his album with the sound of Dwight Yokum in mind. He wasn’t just calling himself Country and doing the same music.
OMG I feel the same exact way… us coutry fans were better off without her… when she came she brought all kinds of trouble to poor carrie… her voice is so UGLY… i saw a little bit of opry live when she was singing a song and her faces are embarrassing, i can’t believe Nashville could do this to us the most loyal fans on earth… i don’t think she’s doing that well though maybe she’ll give up and go back to her pop world where she belongs

Jessica is a failure in any music genre. Her voice is annoying and i can’t stand her. Its better for her and the world that she sits at home with her millions until her time comes.
I agree with most people here that are saying that she’s just doing it because country is so popular. Her voice isn’t country AT ALL. Pop music is pop music no matter how you slice it. She thinks being from texas, dating a texas cowdoy and wearing cowboy boots makes her country. Thats why it annoys people so much.
